Home Grown Face Mask

Masks

Have you ever tried a face mask ?

I feel like this is something we don’t make time for but we should.

At the very least, it gives you 15-20 minutes of down time to stop what you are doing and maybe relax a bit. With all the running round after others you do, I think you deserve that !

What do Masks do ?

Masks are a great way to improve the overall health and glow of your skin. They have the tendency to draw impurities from the deeper layers of your skin.

When applying any mask be sure to avoid the area around the eyes and mouth.

Use your fingers to gently spread a thin layer of the mask mixture to the skin, give it time to do its magic - about 15-20 minutes - and then remove it with clear water and a soft cloth.

While you wait for the mask to work why not take this time to relax your body and mind. You could listen to some soothing music or meditate.

You might also like to treat your eyes with kindness. Place cucumbers on your eyes to protect and restore moisture. If you have dark circles you may want to try using used black tea bags or even green, white, or Chamomile tea bags that have been squeezed out. Just place them over your eyes to help remove puffiness and dark circles.

I would love you to try the recipe below and let me know what you think.

Mask to help with pigmentation

Here’s what’s in it and why:

Milk:

Milk is packed with essential nutrients, including proteins, fats, and vitamins. These components act as natural moisturisers for your skin. They help unclog the pores, have anti-inflammatory properties to soothe and calm, help in the production of new skin cells and promote collagen production.

Egg White:

Egg whites possess high quantities of collagen and protein. Egg white can help to lift skin, reduce oily sheen and help regulate sebum secretion. The vitamin B in egg white is what helps to whiten skin and is quite effective.

Cucumber:

The powerful combination of antioxidants, vitamins A and C, and polyphenols make cucumber a fantastic choice for reducing inflammation. Cucumber also has a high water content which helps to reduce puffiness.

Ingredients

For brightening fair skin as well as fading dark spots, try this combination:

  • 1⁄2 ground cucumber

  • 1 egg white

  • 2 scoops of powdered milk

Mix all the materials together and then apply this substance to your face.

Leave the mixture for 20 minutes and then wash your face with warm water.

Try this treatment twice a week.

Cucumber improves blood circulation making fair skin brighter, and over time will naturally lighten the complexion of darker skin.

Why not gather the girlies and give this a go one Saturday morning ?

If it’s a cold day, make some herbal tea to share. If it’s a summer day, make iced teas to share.

Maybe take some pictures of you all with your masks on to remember the laugh you had and the time you took for yourselves.

And plan for the next one !
